Last December the opening comments for the newsletter stated that 2020 had been a most unusual year and in some ways 2021 has been like that too, as we navigated our way through the pandemic.
The service continues to grow and over 300 women and families were assisted with a range of complex issues emanating from a variety of differing social circumstances.
The strength of the service lies with the dedicated, competent and diligent staff. The team were recently recognised for their professional skills, spirit and cohesiveness during the recent midterm accreditation review undertaken by HDAA, an external agency commissioned by the Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs, who fund us.
While the primary counselling service has been expanded with the development of additional group programs to meet the needs of contemporary society, the original motivation for the founding of Pregnancy Counselling Link 48 years ago, has not changed.
As we prepare for Christmas, the story that began with the birth of a baby and the journey of a family, it is good to remember that Pregnancy Counselling Link is also about families and their challenges.
Let us hope that 2022 is year of acceptance, kindness and tolerance, so that we may take the Christmas message of peace and love with us on our daily journey.
